Personality
Bay is a quiet, reserved stallion with a very unassuming presence. His dark eyes are quiet and soft, and he hangs his head low as he walks. Named after a quaint but wonderful Dominican village, Bay never seems to be overly worried, and indeed has been a calming presence for younger horses during workouts and gate training while he's been at Valkyrie. However, it would be a mistake to think he's a complete dead head. While some may mistake Bay's quietness for timidness, it doesn't take long to realize that it's all confidence. He doesn't fear other horses, and doesn't need to prove himself in petty squabbles.
He doesn't fight against his humans either, because he's just not threatened. Perhaps rough handling would affect that, but he hasn't found that here. Bay and Minske befriended each other while at Perennial Racing Stables while the colt was on lease, and now that he's a permanent fixture the two of them truly are the dream team. Not only does Bay work diligently through his own workouts, he also often acts as a track pony for Minske when he's training the young horses. His stamina is second to none, and he never seems to run out of calm enthusiasm. He's a good horse to use as an ambassador to the public, never putting a foot wrong and gently offering himself to both the old and the young. He's a good horse with a boldness about him that serves him well, and a trust in his jockey that will take him far.
LEG TYPE: STALKER
Bay enters the starting gates like he's done it hundreds of times - which, really, might be the case given all of his assistance in schooling. He doesn't worry, but still leans on his toes, eager in that moment unlike any other time in his life. He throws himself into action at the bells, easing behind the leading group as they stake their claim. He is nondescript in his movements, blending in with the crowd, and can easily be forgotten until quite late in the race. Bay's move is sudden, and he often moves through traffic to strike for the front. That is where the dimly lit fire of daily life finally flares, and he burns as a blaze in his final move for the wire.

Current Discipline: Eventing
After going through so much with the Valkyrie team, it only made sense for Bay to move onto his second career with them as well. He is a diligent and thoughtful student, soaking up his training with enthusiasm. He's got the temperament of a horse twice his age, and after being gelded following his racing career, he became even more temperate. He's got a future as a schooling horse ahead, but until then, he'll give the 3-day all he's got.
