This grey colt was cleverly named Gladiator for several reasons. He's cold as they come, stubborn, smart as a whip, and his eyes seem to burn holes through everyone around him. It's not that he hates everyone, or the world, he simply thinks he's the best that there is in the business and no one should dare to try and challenge that. If he thinks it's in his best interest to not do something he simply will not do it and the consequences of trying to make him do it could end up in several casualties as Maximus does fight back in any way that he possibly can. He's rather high strung and he doesn't enjoy being held back all that much. He fights everyone on everything and is very hard to control, but boy can he run. His ground manners are horrific and he has no respect what so ever towards people or other animals. He's downright disrespectful and is known to charge people when they come to fetch him from the paddock, his ears slicked to the back of his head and his tail swishing rapidly. He's always been a lone wolf due to his feisty attitude and the few friends he makes generally don't stay friends with him long. No horse really dares to mess with him too much, and he's perfectly okay with that. Maximus prefers a lonely life for reasons no one can really figure out. In the paddock before a race he's always raising all sorts of ruckus, rearing, bucking, flailing his legs everywhere and swishing his tail. Which one would think Maximus would look quite clumsy doing; however, every movement this horse makes is graceful and athletic. He looks like he was built by god to be a champion and he certainly acts like it. The moment he steps into a barn, off a trailer, or into a paddock he renders those around him speechless. He literally looks like the horse god built, his confirmation is near perfection and he just has this aura about him.
LEG TYPE: MID-PACK
On the track he's very difficult to control for even the most experienced jockey. It's often thought that this horse only has two gaits, walking and gallop. Maximus doesn't take no for an answer and hardly ever stays at the same pace, if he feels its time to go, it is time to go, and there is nothing you can do to stop him. He's a brilliant race horse, and he always seems to know when it is best to take off, his jockey is just there to keep him running straight. Maximus breaks quickly and usually leads the field for the first few hundred yards before dropping back into a comfortable third or forth place. He likes to be closer to the pace, but not on it and he's very picky about where he ends up. From there he will run his race, and just coast most of the way until he sees its time to run. He's got a great eye for finding holes and places to run and he knows when it's time to go and rarely ever needs the assistance of his jockey. Once he gets out on the lead he'll dig his heels in and take off down the stretch, never looking back and never letting go of that lead. There is nothing this horse loves more than winning and nothing he hates more than losing.
