PERSONALITY
There are two traits in this world that Heroine cannot be called: calm or dumb. The dark bay daughter of Hall of Fame Everyday Hero may be the most energetic filly Witch Creek has ever seen. She came off of the trailer running, went into her stall running and nearly proceeded to tear it down with all of her excess energy. Not even a day later, the fool-headed filly broke out of her stall using some very handy teeth and lips and tore off across the property as though the hounds of hell were chasing her. It took all hands on deck to wrangle the filly back in and even then she wasn't breathing heavy. That was enough for Ripley Marsh. The next day the dark bay filly was out on the turf track getting the hardiest workouts in possible. Heroine is an absolute minx in the barn and on the track. She'll constantly knock saddle pads and saddles off her back, slip her head through the bridle just when you think you've gotten it on. Her whole day is scheduled to torture the help staff and the riders. She'll run nearly out of the barn in the morning if the help does not keep a close enough eye on the stall door. And then when she gets yelled at she'll stalk to the back of her stall and sulk. She's a baby and a brat, but she knows just how to get under your skin.
LEG TYPE: PRECEDER
On the racetrack, Heroine is flighty and a very tough ride. Maggie was the first to jump at the chance at riding her and found out the hard way how tough she could be. She'll sling her body side to side to shake the rider off, plant her hooves and refuse to move. Then once the rider is off balance proceed to bolt and lose them. Maggie, luckily, was a quick study and learned how to ride through the filly's magnificent display of brattiness. Once under control, Heroine is one of the most beautiful runners. She'll just float over the ground, tail and head aloft as though she were running through a desert than racing. Heroine is really keen at the start of every race and breaks like a rocket from the gate. She'll run up to the front runners before settling down and stay glued in her position for the duration of the race. While she is pretty much at the mercy of whatever speed the front runners set, Heroine will cruise as fast as necessary to be within striking distance. The bay filly will make her move at the head of the stretch, turning on the speed quicker than you can bat your eyelashes. The key to Heroine's running style is opening as much distance on her pursuers as possible and hope that they don't catch her. Not the wisest of plans, but you don't mess with what works. And when Heroine is allowed to dictate the homestretch pace and separation between herself and the field, it definitely works.
