Y13 Bay Stallion Standing 16.3 Hands High
Wyvern is a handful on the best of days. He's not dangerous, but he's... well, he's rambunctious. He stirs up trouble just for the sake of trouble, and he seems to like the reactions it gets. He can be cowed into obedience, of course, and some like Clarimonde won't deal with him acting like an idiot. However, most of the staff find him endearing, and for the most part let him get away with his tugging and nipping and bucking because on the other side of that is a playfully loving nature, quick to nuzzle and lick and show affection. He'd definitely not one you'd give to a rookie - he'll walk all over them, and if he gets loose you'll spend a good couple of hours trying to catch him. The worst habit he has is biting, and though no one knows where he really started picking it up, it seems to be chronic. He seems to enjoy the yelps and reactions that come with it, because the ones that make the most noise are the ones he picks on the most. It doesn't matter how many smacks to the nose he gets - he just doesn't seem to care, though he is less likely to do it to some than others. Wyvern is pretty much the clown of his group, and he'll flit around to hang with any horse in the field to try and play even if they don't want him to. If he's rejected or chased off, he'll just happily move on to the next horse. He's got a very upbeat nature, and the farm feels it will serve him well on the track. He's not the sort to let a loss get him down, nor a reprimand. He learns quickly, once you get past his antics, and the raw potential he's shown will get him far.
LEG TYPE: CLOSER
Wyvern's a little antsy going into the gate, but he doesn't tend to cause any problems. He breaks slowly more often than not, otherwise he'd probably be a decent frontrunner or preceder. As it is, he settles nicely at the back of the pack, only tossing his head a few times before getting comfortable. He cruises for the first few furlongs of the race, then starts creeping up holes through the middle of the pack. He doesn't have the greatest turn of foot, but with races as long as he runs, he doesn't need it. He spends over half the race inching himself toward the front, and by the time they come out of the stretch he's normally within a length of the leaders. From there he turns on the real speed with the others, and is always game for a good stretch duel - he seems to like them and performs even better with that as a motivator, so he generally doesn't open much of a gap on the field.
