Mourn takes after both of his grandsires, Impassioned Wind and Augusto. Overall, Mourn is a high energy dominator. He's cruel, but not vicious. Calculating. However, it wouldn't be smart to turn your back on him if you were handling him. He always seems to be plotting, simply because of the look in his eyes and the dangerously controlled air about him. Once he gets on the track, he can barely restrain himself from charging after the first horse he spots just because he's so competitive. Racing is more than just a sport for him - it's a passion. He is always the type to be very serious, but on the track it's different. His seriousness becomes pure concentration. He can't stand when other horses don't take a race seriously, so he won't hold himself back from teaching them a lesson by absolutely destroying them in the race. Mourn doesn't take losing easily and will stop at nothing to crush any challenger when they come into sight. Due to his serious behavior, Mourn does not act up before a race but instead is quiet and focused. He brings a hushed silence to the paddock and moves that to the track.
LEG TYPE: VERSATILE; FRONTRUNNER/PRECEDER
He doesn't mess around in the gate and waits for the break patiently. Mourn charges from the gate and pushes hard for the first hundred yards before letting up and letting the the other front runners go up in front. Mourn doesn't tolerate pushing by stalkers and will drop back beside them if they attempt to do so. Mourn likes to start gaining ground around the turn and by the time they have entered the homestretch, he has taken off and is surging away from all competitors. If a horse comes up and challenges him, Mourn has enough will and drive to push off and get away from them gamely.
