Y20 SIRE OF THE YEAR
Alucard Scripture's Sapphire - Finale Slew, by Seattle Slew (CR) Y16 Sprinter of the Year, Y16 Best Sprinter Male, Y17 Sire to Watch Pensioned Valkyrie Breeding Stallion.
FFTA Competitor - Show Jumping Level 2 |
Y11 Dark Bay Stallion Standing 16.3 Hands High
Alucard is intensely haughty and domineering. He is coldly competitive, lacking the usual passion of a racehorse. He looks straight through you as though you don't exist, and this really hurts the people around him who take as good care of him as any other. In a way, Alucard reminds us of Anarchi, who had the same cold and domineering attitude about him. Alucard extends his attitude to everybody, horse or human. He doesn't even push people around - he just doesn't acknowledge them at all. Alucard is beautiful. He is big boned and sound in body, and within him lurks a fierce intelligence. He just doesn't like being affectionate to others. Luca is the definition of preparedness. He's always on his toes, alert and ready to go. Unflappable, in a way. He functions coldly and mechanically in life, as though caught in a dream world where nothing else exists. But when he's on the track, Alucard does an about-face. He becomes very aggressive, so aggressive he becomes a bit of a danger to others. It's wise for nothing to be in his way out there. He becomes so intense that it's easy to see the racehorse bred into him. He's fierce and hard to control by his jockey and a complete gate worker's nightmare. But once those gates open, a horse with a faster break is hard to find.
LEG TYPE: PRECEDER
Alucard breaks as quick as lightning and settles into a stalking position. He will never directly take the lead, even if there's just him and a closer in the field. He will force that other horse to lead, running as slowly as possible to get that to happen. For such a fierce colt, you'd expect him up front, but Luca ends up avoiding the lead and taking a backseat. His favorite spot is on the rail, and he's been known to magically slip through there, unnoticed until it's too late. Alucard makes his move on the final turn, swinging to the outside or inside of the leaders in a huge move, blowing away his competition and winning by as many lengths as possible. He has an explosive turn of foot. The minute he starts racing Luca loses his difficult personality and becomes malleable beneath his rider's hands. But the minute the race is over, Alucard reverts to cold indifference. His fiercely passionate self vanishes the minute the race is over.

Luca's domineering and intelligent personality has transferred rather well to his second career. While he used to be dangerously aggressive on the track when around other horses, he seems to just go into his own headspace in the arena - nothing exists except him, his rider, and the fences he needs to conquer.
