Ghost is a loner. She isn't incredibly friendly with people or even horses. She's not violent or stand-offish, but it's obvious from her behavior that she'd rather be left alone. She stays to the back of her stall and ignores any attempts to interact with her for the most part, even coming for food only after whoever gave it to her has left. Rather than being mean, she's just... antisocial. Whenever someone does enter her stall or go after her in the field, she won't run away, but she'll go about her business until they come to her. Nothing can be used to bribe her into being the one to approach. She does have her quirks, of course. She has a thing for chasing rabbits that no one has really been able to explain, and it only happens when she doesn't think anyone's looking. If she sees a rabbit, she takes off after it - not in an aggressive manner, even. She seems more excited than anything, following its twisting and turning path until it outruns her. The only thing they can think is that she just enjoys the run and gets caught up in it, but it's a strange behavior nonetheless. Minske's started joking that she'd be more effective as a greyhound than a racehorse. The behavior seems to translate into her running style.
Ghost seems to get that same air of excitement when she's tacked up as she does when chasing rabbits. It makes her pleasant to work with, even if she's not loving or affectionate. She listens listens very well under saddle and never really puts up a fight. She's not one to give her all in workouts - she needs race day conditions to really get her blood flowing. The only exception is if she's going in company, because she enjoys running with a target to go after. Despite her quiet nature, Savita loves the filly. Her beauty will surely endear her to fans, but Savita sees something of herself in Ghost that has her determined to make her a champion.
LEG TYPE: PRECEDER
Ghost tends to break fast and eagerly from the gate, though she'll immediately slow up and let the frontrunners pass her. If there are no frontrunners in the race, she'll slow up as much as she needs to to be behind the other horse - she will never choose the lead at the beginning of a race. Even if the other horse hates being up front too, it'll just make for a slow race with Ghost refusing to go in front. She loves the chase, and will run hard right at the heels of the horses in front of her - not to harass, but to simply chase. Given the length of the races she tends to run, Ghost will willingly pick up the pace at the end, having had her fun. She'll run by the lead horses under urging, fighting to get in front and finish off the game - she tends to win by smaller margins rather than big ones.
